Stylistic Experiments.

I've recently been experimenting with alternatives ways of creating images. One of the more successful experiments involves integrating more photographic based images in my work as a way to tackling a brief, much like my previous promo posters for the Scattercats (March 2010 blog). Here are some of the results. Further images will be posted on my website in the coming weeks and I'm thinking about offered it to my clients as an alternative illustration style.

The Flatford March

A few years ago I had a day trip to Flatford Mill, which is not far from where I live. It was a beautiful day and I decide to documented the trip with a good handful of drawings. They later became the starting point for a couple of images the best of which became 'Constable's Cow's . The trip was touched upon in the blog from May 2009, was it really that long ago?

The main visual interest of the day (apart from the cows) was the way in which people moved through the landscape. Trudging back and forth from the visitors center to Deham village. They all seemed totally oblivious to the landscape and the main reason why they had come to this beautiful site in the first place . I never really developed the drawings or concepts behind my interest. So this afternoon, after recently rediscovering the drawings I thought I would have a play and post the result.
